Observations on a Walk

I took a walk
through my neighborhood

just like any other walk,
but I noticed so many things.

The plum blossoms in shades of
white and pink were blooming

in the trees along the sidewalk.
The green fields looked so

open and free. The green leaves growing
along with the callery pears. Bees coming

out of their nests and flying in the sky. Birds flying
in circles with their wings spread wide,

drifting with the wind.
I noticed the wind blowing

against my skin, my hair
flying in all directions.

My hands coming out to
run along the dark green thickets.

It was rough and gritty along my skin.
My teeth cracked open in a smile.

I couldn't help feeling the joy
spreading from my heart

running outwards in my body.
On my walk, it wasn't

just me,
I was one with nature.
