Project Your Voice

Another teardrop falls to my pillow
Another night awake worrying
Wide-eyed and distressed
I lie there unable to form thoughts
Since all I feel is anger buzzing through my body

Droughts and hurricanes and endangered species
Yet you continue to burn away at fossil fuels

Please don’t forget the beauty of our planet
Cotton candy skies
And evergreens speckled with snow dust
Please don’t forget

Our Earth is slipping away into
Smoky skies and slushy winters

When will enough be enough?

We can’t let leaders abuse their power any longer
Let them see the Earth underneath their feet
And teach them to care for the future

Together our voices can multiply
Echoing urgency to our neighbors and strangers

We are left with no choice
We must fight for our future

  • Dreaming

The sun is ready to rest,
and fill the night with a deep navy.
    Light speckles the sky,
    shimmering in a far distance.
    Streetlights diminish,
and the world goes into focus.
I can go outside and gaze above me,
  • Endless journey

    Step after step,
I carry myself forward through a hike with no view.
No moment of relief of gazing out into the depths of the evergreens,
while listening to the chirping birds
and taking in the smell of the crisp air.
  • City of Peace

Smooth tan stones cover the ground
    Where merchants sell jewelry
And people stroll through the city
    Pomegranates are piled in baskets
And Armenian pottery shimmers under the sun

The smell of fresh pita and fried falafel
