The snowstorm has shut down everything
and there's so much time to waste
so I didn't even shower until noon
And when I did I was in there for an hour
because it's cold outside and the water is warm
so I crank the heat and steam the bathroom up
And when I finally get out and get dressed
I don't really know what to wear
I'm not going out today so why bother anyway?
I'm staying inside so why dress warm?
I think I'll just wear my twirly dress
My twirly dress is comfortable and smooth
and it might be just a little bit too small
but I really don't care because
I'm not going anywhere today
So I turn on the music and I blast it
and dance like I'm some superstar
I twirl in a circle till I'm dizzy
and eventually fall to the floor
then I roll over and over and over
until my hair is a total mess
but I don't care I think I look my best
with my tousled hair and my twirly dress
And when I get chilly I throw on my robe
which has an adorable raccoon hood
and I put on some fuzzy socks and slippers
which really is a snow day kind of look
And I lay on my floor reading books
then I watch a movie with my family
and now I'm back on my floor
and I'm reading some more
and I'm still wearing my twirly dress
The house is really quiet
and I smell something cooking
so I go to investigate the kitchen
I see two loaves of bread on the counter
and my mom is preparing chicken for dinner
and the house is so calm and content
So I go back to my room and write a poem
and guess what? I'm still in my twirly dress
Now I get out my stuffed animals
which I haven't touched in months
and play with them for old times sake
Then I dance in front of the mirror
for once feeling happy with my looks
So I twirl and twirl and twirl
and giggling I strike a fancy pose
And the snowflakes are still falling
through the air and landing in a pile
but I don't really care because
it's warm inside and I feel great
better than I have in a while
Now I feel my eyes get heavy
and I know that I'll sleep well tonight
and maybe in my dreams
the snow won't be so cold
and I'll probably be wearing
my twirly dress
and there's so much time to waste
so I didn't even shower until noon
And when I did I was in there for an hour
