The Tree

I sit in your branches
Reading my book in the peaceful bliss
The birds chirp and fly around your trunk
Teaching their children how to fly off your tree
The squirrels jump from branch to branch chattering
Your leaves rustling in the wind
Your roots far down in Earth
You belong here, tree
I sit in your branches
Watching the life happen on your trunk
I sit in your tree
Wondering what we would do if you were not here

  • Unreal

    Sometimes I can't believe that you're gone

    Sometimes it feels so unreal

Like when I tried on the cutest pair of jeans

My first thought was "I can't wait to show him"

    When I tried new makeup

  • The Door

The door will always be open for you

    I'm still waiting at it

Hopefully I'll be able to leave the doorway soon

    But if you ever knock

I'll come running without a second thought
