Writer's Block

In the perfect mood with nothing to write.
Ideas swarm like bees in my head but none ever take flight.
My fingers, bent, glare down at the keyboard
As its letters taunt me about not having good ideas in my head.
Maybe my story should start off with my character getting out of bed?
No, it's too basic, everyone does it.
I need something exciting, something unique.
A story that makes the reader ride an emotional roller coaster.
I need to make them sit on the edge of their seat.

I need a character that comes off as appealing.
One that everyone can relate to.
Maybe they can be an underdog?
No, that's too stereotypical .
But if they have no struggle are they considered likable?
Should they have long hair? Short hair? Maybe they're bald?
Are they a princess or an athlete?
Do they have a mustache or a beard?
Are they loved or are they feared?
How would they handle difficult situations?
Do they rage like a beast, or stay calm and still like water in a puddle?
Should they be fighter or the leader of the pack?
Or will they be the quiet introvert that stays in the back?
What will the character do? Who will they save?
Are they the villain or the hero?
Could they go both ways?

Where should the story take place?
On some new found planet?
On some mystical land?
Maybe a garage because they are a struggling band?
A field of daisies or an abandoned haunted house?
Maybe in space on a stolen spaceship?
Is time travel real? Maybe they traveled to the past?
Or maybe they traveled to a dystopia?
I will just wait until this disease passes.
Maybe tomorrow I'll write something fantastic!

    poor little Darla

stuck in a war that was already fought

    a chandelier mine shattered

for she was bought by a man

a man who poured hope in her glass

    and killed her with doubt

a man who toasted to happiness
  • Runaway

Write a poem or story of any genre using the sentence "She looked at me with pleading eyes. That's when I ran away." At the end. Or create a piece of art/photo that represents this sentence.

Oh, why must my bitter cold soul devour my box of warmth,
my murderous, snow-white hair pointing north?
The hikers that dare set foot on my icy ridges,
they shall burn you like scolding, lava-like bridges.
