Movie of memories

When I close my eyes I see a movie,
small snippets stitched together,
snippets of memories together.

Your sticky fingers after eating all the strawberries instead of picking them,
trimming your beloved rose bushes, one by one,
walking in the corn maze and getting lost,
when the snowflakes got caught on your eyelashes,
roasting marshmallows by the fire, and yours catching on fire,
brushing your honey-colored hair until it was smooth,
dancing in the rain together, soaking wet and cold,
the times we went star gazing and just laid there for hours,
your smile after I wiped the hot chocolate mustache off,
the note you wrote before you left without even saying goodbye.

The last clip in the movie is of the graveyard
here there's a certain grave with a single rose on top.
And then the movie is over,
I open my eyes and it's just me again.

  • Lost love

    Years of wasted love,
I handed it out at no cost,
    but I gave too much.
Suddenly there wasn't any love left for me.

I needed your love to survive,
but it was nowhere to be found.

    Empty words,
  • old gum

    Dodie and Fletcher,
    the orange dream catcher,
    Unopened messages,
    Cinderella's transforming carriage.
    Crying in the shower,
    all I want is flowers!
    Buttons on my shirt,
Can I get any more hurt?
  • sunshine serenity

The sun slowly sinks down behind the mountains,
casting faded orange and yellow rays.
    Wispy clouds drift overhead,
    pushed by the wind.
A single cricket's chirp fills the air with a quiet song,
