Her Smile

Her smile
filled me with joy
it made her features
glow
she radiated happiness.

You have a great smile
I said.
At first she looked
surprised
like she wasn't used to
getting compliments
and then she grinned
she looked like she
was the happiest person
ever to walk the earth.

Aw, this is so cute. This makes me really happy because I am so constantly in a sea of depressing poetry. Don't get me wrong, I love a good sad poem, but it's so nice to see a little happy one. I love the structure here, it feels very clear and sweet.

I really like this! It's a perfect balance of sweet and simple. It made me smile too. The second part is great. If you wanted to expand it, you could probably to the description of her smile.

What a great message. I completely agree with angelaweasly and H20.hollym. The simplest of this poem is perfect and completely enhances the poem. I also like the structure. This piece flows really smoothly and I find it reflects, in a way, what you are talking about. I find especially now, people aren't used to receiving compliments, just as you mentioned with this girl, and it catches them off guard. Your poem shows me how important it is to give sincere compliments, which is a beautiful lesson. Thanks for making me smile!

This piece is really powerful! Even though you did't tell us about the physical parts of the smile, I was picturing it.

This is a very nice poem. It's short and to the point but it's also sweet and sentimental. Great job!
