Electronic Boomerang

Sometimes I feel like I could huck it to the next town,

Sometimes I wish it would never run out of battery.

Often I want to tear it down,

Often it acts like a whole lot of calories.

Sometimes it takes over my life,

Sometimes I can never put it away.

Often it stabs me in the back like a knife

Often it can see inside my mind like an x-ray.

Sometimes I want to smash the screen on the black top,

Sometimes it sleeps right next to me.

Often it likes to creepily eavesdrop,

Often it gets revenge when I throw it as far away as I need to be carefree.

And what is it?

It’s my smartphone.
