Clouds

Today the clouds
are covering the sky
they block out the sun
casting shadows
and turning the sky
an unappealing 
shade of gray

The birdsong stopped
they are hiding from the storm
because the rain is 
falling from the clouds
tumbling down
onto the green grass

All the plants
are growing greener
the flowers begin to bloom
as the spring showers
feed their growth
and it becomes clear
that spring is truly here
as life begins 
to appear

But the rain
and the clouds
while they feed 
the growth of life
still make my head
feel heavier
and my eyes
fill with tears

Just like the droplets
fall from the clouds
the tears fall 
from my eyes
but my tears 
do not water the flowers
they fall 
unheeded
on the ground
