it's enough

this poem is for the girls who go chasing rainbows
when it's cold outside but we're all still barefoot
and the gravel gets fixed in our feet but we're all still running
it's for the people who always give a sweet smile
(honestly, I don't know how they do it, I'm always stuck grimacing at them on a particularly bad day)
they're as rare as finding a soft patch of grass to lie on when all we've got is dead weeds
it's for the friends who hug you and tell you it's okay
not even caring if it's kind of embarrasing
they'll come and find you and cheer you up immensely
just because they came to look is enough
it's for the people who know it's enough to draw with chalk on the road
to choke out gasping sobs because letting it all out is the best way to re-set
let's all be those people, shall we?
I guess it's sort of enough
to try.
