The Vermont of Your Dreams

Vermont's rolling hills
Were frosted like cupcakes
As their century old secrets
Were buried by the falling snow.
Rosy cheeks,
Bright against the greyness of the sky.
Laughter ringing like bells
For all to hear.
The lake was frosted over
By mist and fog
And the wind rolled apon its glassy surface
Like the breeze against a dragonfly's wings.
Most people only see
The wet, cloudy sky
And the colorless earth.
But if you open your eyes to new possiblities
You will see the rainbow has fallen
Onto the snow
And is lighting up the world.
And the sky is full of fluffy white clouds
And the radiant sun illuminates the smiles of its people.
This is the Vermont that you have to look to see.
This is the Vermont of your dreams.
