You can see your eye lashes when the sun shines in your face
Like little dots floating above your iris
When you catch a glimpse of them they look like the white fuzz on dandelion puffballs
They could float away with one single breath of wind
But they don’t
Most stay rooted in the place they’ve always been
But some fall
Fall off your eye lids
Who knows where they’re going now
Stolen away by the currents in the air
You’ll never see them again
But how little we think of this, or think not of it at all
We can’t help but notice when a person gets taken away
But when such an insignificant thing as an eyelash does
We don’t give it a second thought
Like little dots floating above your iris
When you catch a glimpse of them they look like the white fuzz on dandelion puffballs
They could float away with one single breath of wind
But they don’t
Most stay rooted in the place they’ve always been
But some fall
Fall off your eye lids
Who knows where they’re going now
Stolen away by the currents in the air
You’ll never see them again
But how little we think of this, or think not of it at all
We can’t help but notice when a person gets taken away
But when such an insignificant thing as an eyelash does
We don’t give it a second thought
