She did laugh because everyone laughed
She did sit back and observe because everyone sat back and observed
She did repeat the rumor that she knew was untrue because it gave her something to say
She did think the dress was ugly but bought it to match with her friends
She did play the sport so she could have a group to sit with in the cafeteria
She did burn away the curls that made up her lion's mane 
She had the personality and the look
She is perfect
She hates herself

She does laugh the most bizarre laugh when its most of the time not funny
She does stand up for the girl being teased
She does shut down what she knows is untrue
She does buy the dress that unusual
She does quit the sport she hates to play and watches the sport she loves to watch
She does scrunch her wet hair into ringlets to enhance her mane
She does have her own personality and her own look
She is happy
She loves herself

She is now not her best self
She is now herself who tries to be the best
