I break down

 eyes fall closed 

   despite all efforts to notice the words

written on a board at the speed of light

It's harder to stay awake 

"Am I ok?" 

I whisper to myself, 

In the mirror,

A girl I don't recognize stares back.

She looks as if she has been crying again,

Her heart breaking into shards.

She whispers back,

remember me when i am gone

remember my smile and the way i hugged like i would never let go

remember how much i care about the world and my fear for the future

remember my laughter and remember my tears
