I took a walk inside the library today, 

and I noticed everything. 

Two older women exchanging hellos, 

kids under piles of toys, 

and parents taking a breath. 

She knows how intense she can be,

She knows she’s dramatic and overshares sometimes.

She knows she is holding herself back,

And she knows she can be happier.

There is a special magic to waking up to silence.

No snow plows rumbling down the street spraying salt in every direction.

No parents yelling at you to wake up,

Because it’s a snow day,

And I get to sleep in.

i just stare out the car window

let the breeze tangle my short brown hair

inhale that ocean wind

it means i'm seeing my friend again

who knows me like no one else

rolls her eyes at my boy troubles
