Today I saw 55 American flags.

10 were in parks that were covered with snow and the stars peeped out from beneath a layer of fog.

She was beautiful, but in a different sort of way.

Her violet eyes bubbled with unspoken words

That she kept hidden but longed to say.

Chained to the ground like broken-winged birds.
