New Leaf

Truths told through narrowed eyes and gritted teeth.
Promises, woven with golden thread around the hearts of those bound by the words.
Dreams, built up from the ground into palaces, art, new wonders of the world.

The sound of faltering footsteps in the darkness, the runner wheezing with laughter. Meteors whizzing through the night sky, reminding us of how big the universe is.

Staring,
Watching,
Glaring,
Pouting,
Frowning,
At the blank page.
White.
So stark,
So harsh,
So empty.
The blank piece of paper.
Yes,
So blank.
And yet,
So full,
At the same time.

To our planet,
I know that you are in fact,
A planet, and you can't hear me.
But...
We have taken your oceans,
And filled them with trash, and oil.
We have taken your land,
And we have thrown garbage onto it.

'Wander' They said.
'Wander the world.'
'Test the limits.'
'Explore.'
So I do.
So I wander.
And I explore.
In the day:
The grass is strokes from a painter's paintbrush.
The sun is a ball of laughter.
