Appendages
Step into my skin
Look through my eyes
Take a walk in my shoes
Fiddle with my thumbs
Feel out the situation with the pads of my fingers
Absorb it all through my flesh
Toss an idea out there with my triceps -
Mornings in the garden
With tulips
My two lips
Whisper sweet nothings
We let the forget-me-nots overhear
Who will they remember to tell
We make such a ruckus
That the primrose grimmaces
And gesticulates
Gestures
To sage -
Spray from the sea
Oh, to be spray from the sea
To dance on wings of gulls flying free
To kiss the lips of passing girls
Run my hands through fragrant curls
I want to crash upon the rocks
To dance on brows and dampen socks -
Ruby Red Slippers
You know Dorothy?
There's no place like home
The tornado took her
Oz was heaven
In more way than one
Easier to explain it to the family that way I guess
When they told me
I was totally blown away
-
Bouldering
If boulders were corporate america
My sister was a white buisnessman
She could scale walls faster
Than winfield's flyball
Hit that bird
She just rose
Until the carabiner
Cracked
When the white lillies were wheeled out -
My Grandfather
My grandfather is
Was
An incredible man
Top of his class
16 years in the air force
Stronger than a promise
More faithful than a candle in the dark
Braver than a child
At the top of the basement stairs
