The 'Red Rising' series by Pierce Brown is a beautiful piece of fiction. A sci-fi epic, it's a testament to the indomitable human spirit and the lengths some will go to break the chains that have contained them for hundreds of years. In the novels, we follow Darrow, a young Red, living in a color-based caste system that keeps his people enslaved in mines deep below the surface of Mars and the other planets. After his wife is killed, Darrow vows to join the revolution against the Society.
