Florida schools have been heavily impacted by the book banning policy, silencing the discussions of real life events such as race and identity. When you read a book, you are putting yourself in someone else’s shoes and you start to understand them in a way that is unique to only them. This policy impacts the everyday student, removing our ability to choose which books we want to read and limiting our ability to empathize. As student 2025, the future of books become constrained for my peers and I, an issue personal to all teenagers.
