The Absence of your Giving

You once gave to me the poetry of your heart

through bloodshed tears of your wasted time

I listened so softly

you didn't acknowledge my upbringing, as you lost your way of sight

my hands out empty

lost without your touch

Absence of space closing in

so small but yet so far away

I listened

but no one listened back

I spoke softly

 words across my lips

left in cold frigid air

once touched

but never received

I lost your giving

the Absence of your giving, as it hung heavy in the air.

  • I wonder

    I sit here and stare

Stare at the window's reflection on the floor

    The snow drifting down

    The grey outside

    I notice every little detail

  • Childhood

I remember when a phone wasn't important to me

When all I wanted to do was play outside in the grass

Watch as the clouds wisped by in the sky
