After the rain

Humid air drifts through the streets

Carrying the scent of damp leaves

The birds sing songs of joy

While gathering food for their young

Flowers begin to sprout among the grass and moss

Each petal bringing new color to the town

Cars glide down the roads

Splashing across the puddles

Squirrels skitter around porches

Fleeing the young children that chase them

And finally

Dusk slowly takes over the clouded sky

After the rain
