Amelia

I call her my best friend, but she's closer to a sister to me.

Her smile reminds me of warm, rainy days and lightning,

Lighting up the sky for a second, followed by the laughter of the clouds.

We made so many songs a joke, screaming "whe youhr lehs don wok like dey use to befo." in the school hallways, everyone looking at us weird.

Laughing at everything and nothing.

I love her amazing writing skills.

She can put my thoughts into words without even knowing what I'm thinking.

She finds the words for the most complicated situations and I admire that.

She's so pretty,

Her eyes remind me of the sky after a storm, light but holding secrets.

She looks good in everything.

She can make me laugh so hard, but she understands everything I say, serious or not.

I strive to be a better friend for her, and I don't think she realizes that I don't deserve her.

Her family is amazing; they feel like my own.

I laugh with her mom while we eat and her sister hugs me when she sees me.

I can't imagine losing her,

She has carefully built me up on stilts,

A new life from the one I left behind,

She is the foundation,

And I think I would lose myself if she ever found out that I am nowhere near good enough for her.

So cheers to my best friend,

You mean so much to me,

Love,

       T
