Anchor

I'm bound to this 
Frame of mind 
For the time that has passed 
Leaves more and more 
Of a mark on my 
Soul 

And the hours that go by 
As the sand falls 
From the hour glass
And the memories 
Stay the same 
While the moment always is changing 

Soon they grow without you 
Becoming unrecognizable
For the people I thought I knew 
Become memories of the past 

And as the months 
Roll by 
Like tumbleweed on my favorite road 
To the calmest place on earth 

That I promised 
I wouldn't leave 
But I didn't 
For it's still in my heart 
Along with the other moments 
Locked away turned into memories 

And the leaves will soon change

Yet some of them will stay the same
