Are We All Mirrors?

Are we all mirrors?

Reflecting what others

do and say

but when we see mirrors

we see a filter?

A filter that adds

comments

popping up like pimples.

Are we all mirrors

that reflect

what others feel

while thinking we are unique

in our struggles?

Are we all mirrors

who stay in the basement

because what it shows

us is things we don't want to hear?

Are we all mirrors

who only speak flaws

while performing beauty

like it is a commercial for selling struggle?

Are we all mirrors

who just want to look

in a mirror

and not see what everyone else thinks

because a mirror is not the truth,

it is a reflection of

us

a mere droplet

of truth.

Are we all mirrors

who want to paint

but the light washes it away

even though

painting are much

better

for the reflection.

If they lie,

they lie to everyone,

if mirrors lie,

they only whisper to you.

Are we all in a white room

that is actually made of mirrors?

Is the fear of the walls,

a fear of yourself

because

are the mirrors us,

or only the worst of others?

Far too often the piles cascade too high

I can't see the top of who I am

    each emotion,

    and each action.

I can't understand the tip of the iceberg though

  • Existence

My existence is not for others

it does not heal the wounded

my words are costume, foam steel at most.

I exist to live a life that continues the cycle

I'm a mirror of society that has painted
