An Art Gallery Of Humanity

I see the way you care for everyone else,

More than yourself.

Picking up every broken piece of glass

Because you know that if you don’t

Who will?

I see the way you love,

Not just through words

But through writing.

Carefully picked out words like perfect ripe apples,

off of a tree

to share a slice of art to others.

I see the way you perfect yourself

Covering that small quilt of acne that lays beneath your foundation coated cheeks,

making spiders on your eyes with coat after coat of mascara.

filling your lips until you don’t know where the makeup starts and your face begins.

I see how you feel

Silently.

Not to disturb anyone else.

Because you don’t want to be a burden.

I see your freckles,

like kisses from the sky

and a hug from the sun.

I see how strong you are,

even if you feel like you’re not at all.

I see how beautiful you are.

not just as a person but as a human

I don’t even have to see you to know it.
