Back Home

I stumbled out into the light, only to find myself back in my bedroom. No, my childhood bedroom.
Sunlight shone through the windows, illuminating the small room. I recognized the familiar dolls and stuffed animals younger me played with on the unmade bed. The cartoon stickers on the wall were there too, each the same as I remembered.
This is not real, it couldn’t be. My family moved and sold this house years ago, this couldn’t be real.  I turned around, and good, the door was still there. I need to go back into the dark tunnels I had just come through, perhaps I could find the real way out.
When I opened the door though, the familiar hallways of my old house greeted me. There were sounds coming from the downstairs kitchen, voices, and the sizzling of a frying pan.
It’s just my mind playing tricks on me.
I cautiously went down the stairs, turning the corner expecting to see people in the kitchen. Except- there was no one. The previous sounds went away too, leaving the house again empty and silent.
I jumped at the sound of a door opening behind me.
“I just got two fish from the lake!”
That voice- it must be-
I turned and was met with empty space.
No one was there.

  • The Start

Objectives: Go from the nest to the ocean, right across the beach. Easy, right?

Unfortunately for them, it's more of a life or death mission.
  • Dream

It was almost calming, lying in a little wooden boat floating in the middle of the ocean. The boat was only big enough for me to lie in, and the waves were little, gently pushing the boat forward. To where? I did not know.
