Because She Never Noticed

She was a smart girl

She was pretty

She was kind

She was hard to get

The only thing in the world she lacked

Was how to be in a relationship

She sat alone at lunch

She walked alone in P.E.

Even as packs of girls and boys practically waltzed past her

They noticed her, but they didn't know her

And she didn't know them either,

Despite being in their grade for years and years

It was always the same

She didn't mind being alone, in fact she actually liked it

It gave her peace and quiet

But then came this boy...

He was new to the school

With wavy brown hair, and a slightly crooked smile

And even though he'd only been at the school

For a few hours, he was instantly popular

Girls chased him, and so did a few guys

But he didn't care about them

All he was focused on was her

The mysterious girl who was always alone

Who always had her nose in a book

He couldn't take his eyes off her

But she just to oblivious to notice

Everyone else knew

But they would never tell her

And worst of all, he would never tell her

And that was it

Nothing ever happened

Because she never noticed

Or knew

  • As if

    We sit alone together

Pretending to be something we wish we were

Not liking the something we are

Because, maybe pretending to be something  we're not

    Will fix all our issues

The season changed and so did you

Growing cold and flicking me away

As if I was just a fly that flew

    Too close to your nose

And as golden leaves fall to the ground,

Sometimes I feel like I did too
