Chasing Chase

I know this sounds crazy, but I’ve never really been lost before. However, my younger brother Chase has been very lost before. 

We were at Shelburne Farms. It’s a place of many attractions. Animals, food, special events, and even a cheese factory. 

I was around four years old and my brother, being two years younger than me, was about two. My mom and her friend Heather took us to Shelburne Farms. I believe we were walking around. I was only five so I don’t exactly know what we were doing, but all of a sudden my mom looked behind her and Chase was gone. My mom has described this feeling as one of the absolute scariest moments of her life. Chase had gone off, following a different person thinking they were his mom. There must have been a special event going on, because my mom told me that it was one of Shelburne Farms busiest days that year. They have an annual fall festival so it might've been that. 

Anyway, my mom and Heather obviously, immediately started looking for Chase. They looked and looked but they couldn’t find him in the abyss of people. Finally, they announced on the speakers that there was a lost little boy about two years old, and they announced a place to come pick him up. My brother couldn’t talk until he was about three years old so I have no idea how they knew my mom was really his mom, but she managed to get him back. She was so relieved that she found him. Chase probably would’ve been too if he was old enough to understand what was happening too.
