Cobblestone Town

The street is long and winding
And there are so many shops to choose from.
All with quaint swinging signs on the side, creaking on their hinges.
Two apartment buildings sit side by side on the street,
A clothesline strung between them.
Someone creaks open a window, and yells across the street
"Hey! Can I borrow a flower pot?"
You smile, then continue on your way. There's a small ice cream shop that you decide you want to visit, so you head in that direction.
The bell on the door tinkles as you walk in. It smells of vanilla and chocolate. There's a large notice on the black board that says,
"Today's special! Blackberry-Chocolate sundae!"
Small metal tables are set around the shop, with curling legs and pink and peach accents. You sit down at the counter, then look at the jukebox and smile. A few minutes later "Hey Jude" is blasting from the speakers.
You order a simple chocolate cone with rainbow sprinkles, lick it for awhile in the shop, then decide you want to walk around the town some more.
Outside, rain has begun to fall. There's a shop at the corner that probably sells umbrellas, but you decide you will take joy in getting wet. You splash about the cobblestone streets, laughing in delight. A small store at the end of the street catches your eye. "Nose in a Book" states the sign on the awning, and a giant nose hangs from the top. You decide this looks good. Books are always comforting and cosy.
Inside Nose in a Book, many people are shaking water off umbrellas, and then settling down in one of the leather chairs. You find one of your all-time favorites, and spend awhile curled up on an old sofa, reading avidly. Eventually, you realize it's time to go.
The train station is crowded, because many people are hoping to get back to their hotels before night. You wish you were staying in the quaint town at one of the inns there, but unfortunately, you needed to be closer to work.
Finally, you get to the platform and wait until the conductor says "All aboard!" Your compartment is cozy, with simple benches and a large window. There is a TV screen, but you decide to simply fall asleep to the rocking of the train, thinking about your day in the Cobblestone Town.
