Colors of Change

Every day is a new chance to make a choice—whether it's something good or something bad. Not everyone goes looking for trouble, but somehow, trouble always finds its way to you. People often do things they know are wrong because everyone else is doing it. Society whispers its rules and expectations, trying to shape you, control you. But the truth is, you hold the paintbrush—it’s up to you to add your colors. Society tells us there’s only one right answer, but the truth is, there are as many right answers as you can create.

For example, people think it’s "cool" to hate, to fight, to play games with people’s emotions. Everyone else might do it, but it’s not right to hurt someone who did nothing to you. Sometimes, you feel like you have to join in to fit in, like you can’t stand out. But standing out doesn’t have to mean going along with what everyone else is doing. Sometimes, standing out means choosing to be different, choosing to be kind, or making the hard choice when everyone else chooses hate.

The years pass so quickly. It only takes one second to go from 2024 to 2025. So, what’s going to change me? What’s going to make me different? Maybe in 2025, I’ll be the same as I was in 2024, or maybe I’ll change again. I don’t know, but I wonder if the changes I’ve made in the past will repeat themselves. Sometimes, your gut tells you to act right away—if something feels off, or if you see something wrong, you need to fix it before time slips away. The clock is always ticking, and once you’ve gone too far, there’s no turning back. You can’t change the past. It’s like a locked door. The future is already shaped by the past and the present, but you still hold the power to color it in. You might not be able to erase the bad choices, but you can decide what happens next.

We’re told to live for others, to bend to the systems around us. People tell you that you have to follow the rules, settle for what’s expected. But what they don’t tell you is that you have control. You rule your future. The past moves so fast, and you can try to change it, but time doesn’t let you. The crayon is already broken, and you can’t rewrite what’s already been done.

Hate should never be something we wear with pride. It’s not a chain to carry but a weight that drags us deeper into darkness. The world will tempt you to hate—hate the system, hate the failures, hate the people who hurt you. But to hate is to give up your power. It’s your power to change, to create, to make something beautiful out of the mess around you. Just like every color has its own meaning, your emotions don’t define who you are. You decide which ones shape your life. The future isn’t one shade; it’s a blank canvas, waiting for you to fill it with the colors that show who you really are.

Sometimes, people will try to paint you with a label that doesn’t fit. They’ll see you as dark, broken, or lost, but that’s okay—because dark can be beautiful. The night sky, blackberries, even flowers come in every shade, including black. From black, you can add white and create something new—gray, a color full of depth, calm, and balance. You can’t control what others see in you, but you can add your own colors, making something beautiful out of what they tried to label as broken.

Change happens slowly and fast all at once. You might not notice it, but every day, you’re becoming someone different. Time moves forward, whether you’re ready or not. The power to shape your future is in your hands. It’s not about waiting for change to happen to you. It’s about choosing to move with it, to grow with it. Let go of the past and step into the future. It’s already being shaped by the choices you make right now.

Hate starts small, just a tiny spark or a little wind, but before you know it, it turns into a raging fire, burning everything in its path. It's a force that rips people apart, makes them feel worthless, like they don’t matter at all.
