Conquer the Fear

I didn't think much of it. It was so long ago when I decided to do it. Now that it's here I don't know if I can do it! My sibling runs right ahead, eager to start on this new adventure. I could almost hear him saying "Seriously? Why are you so scared?" "Because you don't understand." I thought back to his imaginary voice. He looked at me expectantly. I shook my head. My legs were frozen, palms sweaty. I closed my eyes and sat down, hugging my knees. This can't be happening, I thought. 

Then I heard footsteps. I opened one eye. Someone was holding their hand out to me. I took it and stood up. Then they led me to my first day of school outside of homeschooling.
