Crackling Firefly's

A single firecracker lights up the night,
followed by hundreds more.
Fireworks paint the sky with their glitering glow,
as the Moon watches approvingly.
My sister says they look like millions of fireflies,
lighting up the night.
Their booms and crackles,
filling my ears with a chorus of happiness.
The stars laugh together at our attempts to recreate their patterns.
Our loved ones look down upon us smiling and laughing with the Moon and the stars,
they all have been waiting for a time to see us all at ease.
So as the last fireflys go off,
I whisper, "This is for all of you watching down on us right now. We won't stop fighting all these battles until we've won!"
And as the thank you's decorate America,
life lets out a sigh of relief.
