Cries of Danger

I look at the sky,

The clouds paint pinks and oranges,

The sun shines yellow into the skyline.

Does the sky care about things humans ignore?

The clouds stream tears of pollution,

The ocean raises its fists into the sky,

The trees burn with a fiery anger.

It's just one straw, it's just one tree cut down.

We let out gases into the air,

Choking out the cries of help,

The cries of nature, telling us to stop.

We are destroying what we don’t even own.

Hurricanes of plastic flow over the mountains,

Killing animals that are only trying to exist.

We wonder why we are falling apart,

Yet the warning signs are right in front of our faces.

Sorry for the people who won't know what a sunset will look like,

Because we ruined it for you.

Our skies will say sorry, they will plead for help,

But the humans ignore the slow burn of danger.
