I knocked softly on his hospital door. I heard nothing, no response. My hand swipes over the knob, and I waver. Though impatience was nipping at my lower neck, I just shuddered.
I stared into the tanned door, earning stares from passing doctors, nurses and patients. Not necessarily seeing them, but feeling their aura... Or instead, it was when they walked and passed adjacent to me, the sound of their footing stopped, and the distortion in their shadows behind me increased. I frowned. I reluctantly slumped my shoulders. As a result of the reactions that were surely sent my direction, I forced my mentality to cooperate with my already lethargic body.
I opened the door, slightly, letting in the stream of inevitable light from the hallway.
