When the world is at its darkest days,
Turn the light on.
When someone is lost,
Find them
Hold them
And assure them
That everything will be okay.
When push comes to shove,
Embrace everything
And make room for others.
When everyone is wary and drowsy in their own worlds,
When they’ve given up and can’t go on,
When they’re sinking into a pool of their mistakes and flaws
Be the person that they can lean on
Even if you’re the only person out there
Be the kind and comforting friend that everyone needs
Especially now,
When the earth is breaking,
When everyone is at war,
When people need to stand up for themselves—
Speak up
And change the world.

This poem embraces you, in the way you speak of embracing one another. It inspires hope, hope for humanity, by reminding us we are all in this together. I think it's necessary that we all keep this notion of an ideal, compassionate world alive within ourselves, all strive to be better to one another, help those around us and the communities we're a part of. One day at a time, we can turn this Earth into a brighter, kinder home for all.
