Before the Frost

Fall

is yawns and

a general

slowing-down of time.

The world is dipped in molasses

and comes out

stickier

but sweeter than ever before.

And we,

in the world,

seem to speed up because of it.

Time feels rushed

as we hurry

trying to get more done,

to set new goals

before the year ends.

But really,

we need to slow down

and appreciate

the sweetness

of the world

before the first

powdered-sugar frost

appears.

  • I wish

I wish I could see the world like a puzzle

    with each piece

    having one

    rightful

    place.

But there is far too much

    idealist romantic

    in me

for that to be the case.

    I think

  • Mist

    Misting

slowly, a dusting of pearly droplets

    coats the world.

    each one lands separately,

but over time, they all combine.

    joining forces

    melting together

    to overtake the earth.

  • Pushing

We all push ourselves for something

    we push

              for achievement

              for recognition

              for forgiveness
