Before the Frost

Fall

is yawns and

a general

slowing-down of time.

The world is dipped in molasses

and comes out

stickier

but sweeter than ever before.

And we,

in the world,

seem to speed up because of it.

Time feels rushed

as we hurry

trying to get more done,

to set new goals

before the year ends.

But really,

we need to slow down

and appreciate

the sweetness

of the world

before the first

powdered-sugar frost

appears.
