Fun with Alliteration

slipping silently into sleep
dreaming drunkenly of drearily drawn depression
the whorls of water and wax
covering what couldn't quell the chaos

it's so strange, something seemingly so sheltering
turning upon those that tended it
a warm swathe of nothing
consuming countless others

the darkened dreams of nothing,
now,
take over, teaching that all
returns to the reach of night

it's not sad, not unsatisfactory
merely a touch somber
as all realize
there's an end to everything
