The generations between then and now

The past generations make me sick,

you tear loved ones apart and call it protecting the country,

you deport children that don't have any choice on where they live,

no family in the countries you say they "belong to,"

and then tell us that you are only doing that to people who have committed "horrendous crimes,"

But so far all I have seen is you fighting our own citizens,

shooting before thinking,

thinking your life was "in danger" but was it?

or are you the danger.

Most of you work the same jobs as we do but have the audacity to call us stupid,

when we are half your age and guess who isn't doing any better in life then we are?

You.

Great guess.

You don't understand something this generation does and that makes us all stupid,

because a joke or an opinion that flies over your head makes us the ones who don't understand.

Ha.

Ha.

Ha.

Good laugh.

I think for once the past generations should be the ones who take a long look in the mirror,

or in a history book,

tell me what you see.

Because I don't see anything that makes you superior to this generation.

Respect should be earned not given,

There was a time where past generations fought for us,

fought for you.

But the ones between them and now sit back and watch the news,

this generation is fed up with all of it,

we try to fix it,

but we're young,

and people like you will never take us seriously,

Because of our age,

Because of the jokes we make,

Because of our opinions,

Because we don't stay silent,

Because we have become one of the only voices to be heard,

So when you make a change,

when you decide to finally get off the couch and not hide behind the television screen,

and do something for this world that makes a difference more then this generation has and is trying to,
