Glory

Greed,

never-ending and formidable

wanting more than you have

satisfaction is an enemy

you are warned.

Envy,

a desire that cannot be shattered

always lurking around in every corner

dripping with jealousy

waiting to be satisfied.

Pride,

why bother to please anyone else

when you can please yourself

self-love is first priority

doubting that can cause misery.

Lust,

no room for breathing

only room for desire

too much

and one might be driven insane.

Gluttony,

one after another

sick to your stomach

but why bother

there’s no shame.

Wrath,

destruction

a treacherous monster

waiting for the perfect moment

waiting to kill.

Sloth,

always a reason

so why not an excuse

just lie down

you’re too tired anyway.

The seven deadly sins

and one goal:

glory.

  • Taylor Swift

swift locks of golden hair belonging to—

a girl once invisible that now has a place in this world,

    guitar stained with teardrops,

that is worn out by playing her song.

golden fireworks blazing from the sky—

  • Gold

the lifting of a tender brush

dipping it in a swirl of gold

    painting the lush scene

    with fine flecks of rose gold;

the love of a tender soul
