i want the world

That isn't a secret
I intend to keep, isn't something
that people could ever
hold against me. I want the
oceans combined into
a stream of water
that will always flow inside a
series of secret veins
in my body. I want the
forests to become a necklace
that I can wear with pride:
the swinging branches,
burnt wood,
earthen textures. I want the
deserts to form into a
single grain of sand
that is always stuck in my shoe
and I can never get out. I want the
sky, the universe, all the
stars in the world in one place:
a glass marble that can rest
on a silver ring on
my slender pianist but
callused guitarist finger. I want the
soundtrack of cities,
nature,
hums of electric lights
to forever play in my head
on repeat like
my favorite song. I want the
imperfections of people,
the lies we try to get away with,
the sorrow of a new heartbreak,
the joy of a new life.

I want the world.
