If I Had A Voice

Do I have a voice?

Bombs are falling constantly on cities

Children are lost to the other side

Meanwhile monsters hide in their mansions

They laugh as the poor drown in a pool of starvation

They send their citizens into constant meaningless wars.

Don’t be fooled by their cold lies

They’ll tell you they care

But the lie that one side is good will doom us

One hides in the shadow of their lie,

One is open about their deception

And yet you all don’t care.

Do I have a voice?

Family and friends disagree

They don’t want to see through propaganda

They don’t want to see what’s on their side.

Men and women in suits smile at the world

They speak formally and infiltrate your thoughts

They fly a flag while hiding children in the back,

But they only blame the other side.

Politicians post memes while kids are pulled off the street

Teenagers laugh while their friends are thrown into concentration camps.

Yet they always say “Trust our side, we’ll fix things.”

If I had a voice I’d say

“Don’t trust either side in this game

Look closer and see they work together, they’re both the same.”
