If Only

If only I had that strength then things would have been different.

We would still share a home,

Memories that we once shared

With laughter and love

Fell into the shadows of hate and sorrow.

I often think if I dared to tell you to stay

Then maybe you would've stayed.

I wanted you to stay,

If you had stayed we could've been,

But I lost you.

I spent a lot of time completing,

If I should contact you or not.

But I remember the pain that you caused me,

That cannot be undone.

I guess I'll just stay here, where I am

And think of all the what-ifs.

If you only had stayed.
