Interior of a cityscape

i once lived in a city so large
the people you see one day-
you may never see again.

unless you remain intertwined,
gathering pieces of yarn
trailing a path from person to person.

we walked together as the time slowly faded,
slower and slower we remained
out on the streets as the sidewalk blended
perfectly into the sky.

intertwined on my path to stardom
from where i currently stay
a former place i cannot lose
no matter how far i will stray.

and the moments i've gather make up who
i am and who i believe we all are
shaped by the people surrounding me
by the people that bound me
tethered to a former day.

  • What is left

[This is a reposted edited version of a previous poem of mine.]

when all we have is spent–

    what will we have left?

    people once before us–

  • down the street

    i walked down the street
the streets i once used to know
filled with regrets and heavy with burdens
    of what once happened here

    i walked down the street
    a block or so down

  • Dear god, am I real?

I believe in god even though I may know he doesn’t exist

I know the mountains were not formed by him

Instead it is the science in the world

The reason we are here in this moment
