Laser Pointer

What if
We are just the horse with the carrot on a stick?
That runs forward endlessly
While the goal always lies inches away
But never comes closer

What if
We are the dog that chases its tail?
That spins around forever
And when it stops,
It only has sore muscles

What if
We are just the cat that chases the laser pointer?
Just scrambling around the world
Full of determination
But with no result
