Once upon a time, I didn't get angry.
Once upon a time, I didn't get sad.
Once upon a time, I smiled and agreed like everything was okay, because the firestorm within
Was carefully sealed in a steel box
With an obsidian padlock
And a key that had been discarded ages ago.
Once upon a time, I could control myself.
Once upon a time, I was quiet and strong and unreadable.
I long for that time now,
Because the firestorm escaped the steel box
And broke the padlock
And found the key
And now it's here, raging around me.
Did you miss me? I'm here, you know, back from the times
When you were younger!
How dare you trap me in that box. I'll have you know
It was MISERABLE in there, and I'd been inside there for ten years!
Once upon a time, I didn't get angry.
Now, I'm angry again, and it's a painful hot feeling, the flames using my reason as fuel.
I know it's not right, and I know that I should stop,
Because firestorms are best kept in boxes where they can't hurt anyone.
But I guess once upon a time assumes that it happened once,
And that time is now past, and now
The firestorm is here.
Hello, emotions that have been trapped for ten years.
It's the last straw that broke the padlock
And now—
Now they are back, and I won't
Be able to hold my firestorm back again.
Once upon a time, there was a firestorm.
Once upon a now, there's a firestorm.
It's the last straw.
Once upon a time, I didn't get sad.
