Learn to Fall

I get it, you have it worse,

I get it, you're in pain,

I get it, I don't matter,

Not to you, anyway.

So when you call my name,

I shall fast come running,

Leave myself behind,

Even as I'm losing time.

Again and again,

Your hero with no end,

Until I cut the line,

And took back what is mine.

Until I cried alone for hours,

Feeling sorry for your soul,

Until I gave up mine,

Searching for a cure.

No cure was found.

No life was lost.

But who needs that,

What I've got this?

A girl who sees me,

As more than just support,

And with her I've learned,

That all you need,

Is to learn to fall,

And not lean on me.

    If I'm being honest,

    I'm not sure I'll survive,

    These demons,

    I battle,

    Fighting for my life.

They find me at my weakest,

    Where no light shines through,

  • What a mother should be

    I'm tired of the yelling,

I just wish that it would stop.

And I'm tired of the lectures,

Saying all I am is wrong.

    I’m tired of the bruises,

And these voices in my head.

  • Beneath the Ocean

If you're drowning in an ocean,

And there’s no land in sight,

How long do you keep swimming,

    Before your arms give out?

Before you've swallowed too much water,

    Trying to catch your breath?
