Life Remote

Life Remote

Stuck in a cycle of days that seem full of thorns
Each previous mishap pales at the next
As if they are challenged to worsen mercilessly
Every thorn leaves a scar, shredded in deep

A life remote
to stop the thorns
Capable of making them disintegrate
A life remote
allowing you to go back and reverse
A life remote right in front of you

All those days
could be re-written, revised, updated, accomplished.

But the remote sits watching
untouched
because if it were picked up,
the thorns would disappear

but the thorn’s untold truth?
The scars aren’t chipping aimlessly.
They are carefully carving; shaping

A life remote watches
untouched

Staring out as the world whizzes by
It all blends together if your eyes stay open long enough
All the colors become indistinct blurry blobs
With your forehead pressed against the cold glass you picture
