Mine

Your long blonde locks fall on me like gentle rays
I'm warmed by the shine in your eyes

And the leeches latch onto your face
With an absent mind, you try to pry them off

Meandering through the meadow
I pick every flower I see
You lie beneath a tree and tie them into crowns for me
When we leave your hands are worn
And the earth has been torn apart

You wished to have your heart grow inside of you
But how I hold it so softly
And shoo away the flies from its flesh

Even if you've given everything
I'll always want more
I love you
Inexorably, I do
