Mother Nature

Let me go back to the mountains
Back to the trees
Back to the forest who once mothered me

Back to the salt dissolved in the sea
Breathing in that air so salty and green
I will go back to for who I came
And for he came
And for everyone here

We will go back
To live beyond despair

We will go back
To the trees
The mountains
The hills of the forest
The salt of the sea
Valley and desert
You once knew me

The honest
The weary
And those full of burdens
Give us joy
Peace
And a light

Find the strength
And the power
And as you went back
So will I

  • What is left

[This is a reposted edited version of a previous poem of mine.]

when all we have is spent–

    what will we have left?

    people once before us–

  • down the street

    i walked down the street
the streets i once used to know
filled with regrets and heavy with burdens
    of what once happened here

    i walked down the street
    a block or so down

  • Dear god, am I real?

I believe in god even though I may know he doesn’t exist

I know the mountains were not formed by him

Instead it is the science in the world

The reason we are here in this moment
